Capes and Vengeance Cast/Crew Call!

“Capes and Vengeance” is the story of two roommates…who happen to be a sidekick and a minion to a rival superhero and super villain. We go through their day-to-day lives and see that their jobs aren’t as glamorous as the comic books make them out to be. Singing, fighting, and domestic comedy galore!

Thursday, February 2nd from 4-7PM in PRow 232
Friday, February 3rd from 5-8PM in PRow 118

CHARACTER BIOS:

MIGHTY MAN: Your typical run-of-the-mill superhero. His super powers include super strength and a super ego to match.
DR. KILLERO: Mighty Man’s arch-nemesis. Not the brightest of super villains, but he just may be evil and dramatic enough to get the job done.
LITTLE LAD: Mighty Man’s young ward, otherwise known as Paul. Somewhat meek personality, but aspires to be a superhero of his own.
JEFFERY: Dr. Killero’s under-appreciated evil minion. Angry at his job, his life, and various other things that he has to deal with on a day-to-day basis.
RACHEL: Jeffery’s girlfriend. A somewhat vain individual who’s with Jeffery in the hopes that he makes it big.

NBS will be holding a pitch session on Friday Feb. 3 from 6-8 in Prow 114! We’re extending an invite to teams of at least two members (producer/director/writer) to come and give their best pitch for their movie ideas!

Here’s an idea of what we’re looking for!

Keep the pitch under 10 minutes
Have at least a producer, director, and script
Budget is not required but is helpful
Production schedule is not required by helpful (can just be a simple timetable)
Bring a resume and examples of past work

Winner will be decided by quality of pitch, feasibility of the project, and the quality of the script. The winning group will be awarded funding to make their vision come to life! How simple! Come talk with us and we’ll give you a budget!

“What’s For Lunch” - a new documentary film is calling out to all PRODUCERS, D.P.s, and MARKETERS who are interested in making a difference in a creative and innovative fashion. WLF explores the American Food Industry and its contributions to the rising epidemic of obesity and other food related illnesses specifically within one inner-Boston public high school. Through interviews with industry experts and personal accounts from students and leaders of the Slow Food Movement, WFL looks to bring light to the factors contributing to the issue, as well as the efforts being made by the Boston Community to counter it.

Preliminary interview calls will be held for committed producers, D.P.s, and marketing team members from January 24^th-27^th in Prow Room 113 from 7-9pm. Please bring a copy of your updated resume and a reel if applying for D.P.

Alternative Spring Break Documentary

Alternative Spring Break (ASB) is looking for someone to document its Boston trip from March 3-11. This year’s trip is focused on the food movement in Boston–from agriculture/aquaculture, to sustainability, to SNAP/EBT policy. The documentarian will accompany trip participants to service sites including Waltham Community Farm, CitySprouts, Haley House, and The Campus Kitchens Project. This will entail filming the volunteers in action, and doing interviews with the organizations’ leaders, etc. ASB is currently in the midst of fundraising so all costs associated with the week will be waived.
